Join us for a stellar panel of Detroit Female Founders and Inforum inGAGE™ Master Class Alum, or as we like to call them Role Models!

This panel session is an extension of Inforum's inGAGE Role Model & Investor Series that creates a supportive community of women entrepreneurs. This quarterly event series connects emerging and experienced entrepreneurs with inspiring founders – women who have made the leap to pursue their dreams and forge their own futures. This session will strengthen professional networks, foster collaboration, and cultivate new opportunities.

Katie Bigelow, Founder & CEO, Mettle Ops.With the vision of Warfighters Serving Warfighters, this defense contracting company focuses on three primary competencies including program management, engineering, and business development. Katie launched her business in 2013 and now holds over $13M in contracts that focus on materials and solutions for soldier survivability. Katie served her country as a soldier for more than 10 years. As an Army Aviator, code for Blackhawk Chopper Pilot, she piloted and commanded missions in Korea and Iraq as well as the United States. Katie spent the bulk of her aviation career as a medical evacuation pilot.

Gwen Jimmere, Founder & CEO, Naturalcious. Gwen is the first black woman to hold a patent for a natural hair care product. As the founder and CEO of Naturalicious, she has grown her beauty industry startup into one of the fastest growing hair care companies in the U.S. The line is sold in select Whole Foods stores, all Mustard Seed Market locations and other fine retailers and boutiques across the U.S., Indonesia and Trinidad. This year Naturalicious began selling in Sally's Beauty Supply and sold out in three days.

Christina York, Founder & CEO, ALTality (Spellbound AR). Spellbound is a digital pain and anxiety management tool that gets pediatric patients to cooperate with medical treatment and is used in top hospitals across the country. Spellbound uses mobile devices to bring the hospital environment to 3D, digital life. The Spellbound app uses the screen of the mobile device to place digital experiences on top of the real world, gamifying the hospital experience. Spellbound reduces cost of care by lowering procedural cost and risks, and also increases revenue opportunities by improving patient experience and satisfaction. 19 hospitals have paid for and use Spellbound with their patients including, Lucille Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford, the Cleveland Clinic, and C.S. Mott Children's Hospital.

inGAGE™ is Inforum’s strategy to position Michigan as the Midwest hub for high-growth women entrepreneurs. Our approach delivers programs to increase the number of women angel investors in Michigan; provides women access to our network of investors and advisers, guides women through the process of commercializing technology and assists emerging second-stage companies in identifying and seizing new market opportunities enabling them to scale.

The inGAGE™ Master Class provides a confidential peer-to-peer founders forum where emerging second-stage entrepreneurs assess their companies operations, management, finances and personnel to examine strengths and challenges. Through this process, participants will identify and formulate innovative strategies to realize new opportunities.

Since the 2012 launch of inGAGE™, 101 women have participated in Inforum’s entrepreneurial programs; those women have incorporated 42 new companies, created 385 jobs, and been granted 35 patents. Additionally, inGAGE™ supported women founders have raised over $44.2M in new capital and over $13M in government contracts.
